African Non-military Conflict Intervention Practices

ANCIP Webinar with Jonas Schaaf, Lamine Savané and Antonia Witt

On 12 December 2025, the Research Network “African Non-military Conflict Intervention Practices” (ANCIP) will host the fifth event of its ongoing ANCIP Webinar Series. This session, titled “Civil Society Inclusion in African Regional Interventions: AU and ECOWAS with the People?”, explores how civil society actors are — or are not — included in intervention practices by the African Union and ECOWAS. The webinar will bring together practitioners and researchers to explore why civil society inclusion in interventions matters and the practical ways it is achieved. Speakers include Jonas Schaaf (PRIF) and Lamine Savané (University of Ségou/Associated Researcher at PRIF), who will present findings from their study based on cases from Mali and Guinea.
