Impact Analysis of Germany's Feminist Foreign Policy in Arms Control

[Translate to Englisch:]

This collaborative project between PRIF and the European Leadership Network (ELN) aims to analyze the impact of Germany’s Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) measures in the field of arms control. The project evaluates FFP measures in arms control, focusing on three key policy areas: Nuclear arms control; Humanitarian arms control & Regulation of new technologies. The evaluation examines both the successes and challenges in applying feminist approaches. Based on this analysis, concrete policy recommendations will be developed to further strengthen feminist and gender-transformative perspectives in multilateral arms control and disarmament policy more generally. The project is based in a comprehensive analysis of public policy documents and diplomatic statements, as well as qualitative interviews with staff from the German Federal Foreign Office, diplomatic service, and experts from civil society and international organizations. The findings will be compiled into an internal report for the Federal Foreign Office as well as into public publications.
