Under the theme “Back to the Fundamentals,” the 67th Annual Conference of the International Studies Association (ISA) takes place in Columbus from March 22–25, 2025. The program for the ISA Annual Conference includes a series of events in which PRIF Researchers are participating.
Ahead of the annual conference, Mikhail Polianskii spoke on March 4 at a global panel discussion on the topic “Old Playbook, New Fronts: Soviet Legacies and the Limits of Russian Hybrid Warfare in Ukraine.”
As part of the annual conference, Nicole Deitelhoff is chairing the panel “Stability and Crisis in International Orders: Theoretical and Empirical Perspectives,” which also features Christopher Daase, Johanna Speyer, and Jonas J. Driedger. Nicole Deitelhoff is also chair of the panel “Fractured Foundations: Power and Institutional Change in the Liberal International Order” and discussed the relationship between power, polycrisis, and order.
Felix Bethke, Mina Trpkovic, and Anton Peez, Researchers in the Research Department International Institutions, are participating in panels that address topics such as Europe, the United Nations, democratization, economic policy, and international relations.
Together with Markus Bayer, an Associate Fellow in the Research Department Local Peace Orders, Felix Bethke also speaks on a panel about civil resistance, focusing on the Peaceful Revolution in Germany.
Mina Trpkovic discusses the topic “Gendered Disinformation as a Tool for Hybrid Warfare and Fuel for Anti-Feminist Backlash: Evidence from the Russia-Ukraine War” with Clara Perras, a Researcher in the Research Department International Security.
Xian Yaolong, a Researcher in the Research Department Intrastate Conflict, joins Huaijiang Duan on a panel discussion on Myanmar to address the topic “Imagining China through Rebel Eyes: Media Narratives from Myanmar’s Armed Groups.”
