On May 6 and 7, Constantin Winkler, Researcher with the RadiGaMe project, attended the international conference “Radicalization of Young People in Slovakia 3.0.” At the invitation of IPčko, a civic organization providing psychological support and crisis intervention for young people, he gave a presentation on the first day of the conference titled “Between Play and Ideology: Radicalization in Digital Gaming Communities.”

The conference focused on topics such as mental health, social media, extremism, radicalization, and the mobilization of violence. In numerous presentations and workshops, participants shared both concrete experiences from their work with young people and research findings in this context. The conference thus provided a forum for a broad-based dialogue between practitioners and scholars from various disciplines in Slovakia and other countries. The event was organized by IPčko, the counterterrorism unit of the Slovak National Police, the Orange Foundation, and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES).

As a Doctoral Candidate and Researcher on the RadiGaMe project, Constantin Winkler investigates the spread and manifestations of antisemitism in digital gaming communities. The research consortium, which was recently awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 2026 German Computer Game Awards, aims to gain a deeper understanding of radicalization processes on gaming platforms and in messaging services and to further develop current prevention approaches.
