Constantin Winkler at BMBF expert talks and in JFDA documentary

Constantin Winkler, PRIF Researcher in the RadiGaMe Network, was invited to expert talks by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) on February 11 and 12. During the event, 21 experts discussed the potentials and challenges of using digital games in formal education.

The discussions underlined that the potential of digital games in formal education has not yet been exhausted. At the same time, the participants also addressed challenges in dealing with digital games, such as a lack of social acceptance, a lack of diversity in games and rudimentary IT equipment in schools. The proposals subsequently formulated for political steps in areas such as research funding, teacher training and the expansion and promotion of networks will be taken forward once the new government has been formed.

As an expert on radicalization in online communities and anti-Semitism, Constantin Winkler was also featured in the documentary “Antisemitismus erkennen - von den Wurzeln bis zur digitalen Welt” by the Jüdisches Forum für Demokratie und gegen Antisemitismus e.V. (Jewish Forum for Democracy and against anti-Semitism, JFDA). The production, which was presented on April 9, 2025, is designed as an educational film especially for school and extracurricular education. It offers teachers as well as students a basis for an intensive examination of anti-Semitic narratives and their current manifestations on the internet and in social media.

A detailed presentation of the results of the expert discussions can be found on the website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The documentary “Antisemitismus erkennen - von den Wurzeln bis zur digitalen Welt” can be streamed in full on YouTube
