On Thursday, June 12, 2025, the Zentralstelle zur Bekämpfung der Internetkriminalität (Central Office for Combating Cybercrime) (ZIT) appointed Nicole Deitelhoff to the Hessian cooperation network #KeineMachtdemHass (#NoPowertoHate). The proposal, made by Hesse’s Minister of Justice Christian Heinz, was approved by the committee during a meeting of the cooperation network.
Nicole Deitelhoff will contribute her professional expertise to the network as an academic partner. As a peace and conflict researcher, and co-speaker of the Frankfurt branch of the Research Institute for Social Cohesion, she specialises in crises affecting institutions, norms, and the world order, as well as the erosion of social cohesion through conflict, disinformation, and hatred.
The #KeineMachtdemHass network consists of various actors from the judiciary, civil society, the media, and academia, including Hessischer Rundfunk, the University of Kassel, and the civil society organization HateAid. The network aims to combat hate and hate speech online. For example, it offers citizens a low-threshold way to report hate speech through the MeldeHelden app.
Further details on the cooperation network can be found in the German-language press release.
