How Do We Build a Peaceful Society?

On December 16, Tina Cramer, Knowledge Transfer Officer at PRIF, took part in the first thematic dialogue round of the project “Lass mal reden!” (Let's talk!) organized by the state foundation “Miteinander in Hessen” (Together in Hesse). Under the guiding question of what constitutes peaceful coexistence, she exchanged views with teenagers, young adults, and Kevin Lehne (swisspeace – Swiss Peace Foundation) on the topics of war and peace.

The aim of the discussion was to create an open space for dialogue on different experiences, perspectives, and attitudes. The participants discussed values and definitions of peace, as well as opportunities and institutional contexts for peaceful social coexistence. In addition to the effects of conflicts on coexistence, the discussion also focused on their portrayal in social media and the need to enable critical engagement with these media and content.

The dialogue round was organized in cooperation with the state foundation “Miteinander in Hessen” and the START Foundation in Frankfurt/Main.
