On March 19, the participants of the 49th Executive Seminar (IDL) by the Foreign Service Academy visited PRIF: The diplomats from about 20 different countries engaged in discussion with Sophia Birchinger, Nicole Deitelhoff, Stefan Kroll, and Xinyu Yuan.
The discussion with Nicole Deitelhoff focused on the current, multifaceted crises of the world order and the strategies of small and medium-sized states in the context of great power politics. Against this backdrop, Sophia Birchinger emphasized the role of civilian crisis prevention as a key element of the current ‘Zeitenwende’ in security politics. In addition, with Xinyu Yuan, the participants discussed the reform of the UN after 80 years – and its future role in diplomacy and international politics.
