Eldad Ben Aharon at New York University

Research on Israel’s memory politics and book presentation on April 21, 2026

Eldad Ben Aharon is a visiting scholar at New York University (NYU) during the 2026 summer semester. During his stay in New York, he will focus in particular on completing his second book, “Israel’s Memory Politics and the Armenian Genocide,” which is scheduled for publication in 2027. In his research, Eldad primarily examines the intersection of security, identity, and memory. He also draws on foreign policy analysis and the securitization theory.

In addition, Eldad will present his first book, “Israeli-Turkish Relations at the End of the Cold War: The Geopolitics of Denying the Armenian Genocide,” at NYU on April 21, 2026. The book examines the decisive 1980s in Israeli-Turkish relations, a period marked by calculated and clandestine negotiations regarding collective memory. The event is open to the public, but registration is requested.
