Substitution for Michael Staack with focus on Theory and Empirical Research of International Relations

During the next winter semester 2024/25 and summer semester 2025, Caroline Fehl will substitute Michael Staack’s professorship for Political Science, with emphasis on Theory and Empiricial Research of International Relations at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. Staack and his team’s research focuses on the theory-guided analysis of cooperative security, including peacebuilding German foreign and security policy, cooperation and conflict dynamics in East Asia or challenges of global governance.  

Caroline Fehl is a Senior Researcher and Member of the Executive Board at PRIF and works in the projects “The Crisi/es of Arms Control” and “Transitional Justice in the Nuclear Age” on arms control, international law and international norms, institutions and organizations. From 2022 to 2023, she substituted 50% of Lisbeth Zimmermann’s professorship “International Institutions and Peace Processes” at Goethe University Frankfurt.
