Sascha Hach has been co-spokesperson for the Working Group on Armaments and Arms Control of the Working Group for Peace and Conflict Research (AFK) since November 2025. This transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary group comprises scientists and practitioners researching, teaching and working in this field in German-speaking countries. The group's aim is to actively participate in current scientific and political debates on armament and militarisation, offering professional expertise and a critical perspective. Arms control is defined as an approach to cooperative security policy that seeks to control arms dynamics by regulating the means of violence. This covers the entire spectrum of measures for limiting and preventing the proliferation of weapons, up to and including their disarmament. Dr. Carmen Wunderlich and Dr. Markus Bayer form the spokesperson team alongside Dr. Sascha Hach.
