From February 25 to 26, the Polar and Ocean Politics Thematic Group of the German Political Science Association met at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt. The 30 participants presented their research on topics including environmental governance and security challenges, deep-sea mining and geoengineering, and issues of power and representation in regional institutions. Patrick Flamm, research group leader at PRIF, supported the thematic group's co-speakers’ team in organizing the conference on site.
The Polar and Ocean Politics Research Group serves as a platform for political science research on processes of change in polar and maritime regions and offers interested parties a space for mutual exchange and the development of coordinated initiatives.
