On September 17, 2026, the #KeineMachtdemHass cooperation network – of which PRIF has been a member since 2025 – held a meeting. Jonatan Kurzwelly and Viola Dombrowski represented the institute at the network’s meeting, which is dedicated to combating hate and hate speech on the internet.

Minister of State Christian Heinz opened the meeting at the Hessischer Rundfunk offices in Frankfurt am Main. There, the collaborating partners first had the opportunity to report on their efforts to combat digital violence. This was followed by three keynote presentations that explored the topics of digital violence from the perspective of the public prosecutor’s office, digital violence against women, and identity theft. Viola Drombowski and Jonatan Kurzwelly used the occasion to exchange ideas and network with other stakeholders.

Under the slogan #KeineMachtdemHass (no power to hate), the Hessian judiciary signed a cooperation agreement on November 4, 2019, with various stakeholders from the judiciary, civil society, the media, and academia to jointly combat hate speech on the internet. On the occasion of PRIF’s joining the network, Nicole Deitelhoff emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “Online hate weakens social cohesion and is increasingly fueled by global conflicts and disinformation. Researchers are also affected by this. It is therefore very important to me to participate in this network and contribute to the analysis and development of counterstrategies.”

Further information about the network can be found on the Hessian Justice Department's website.
