Directly following his stay at the European University Institute in April 2025, Hendrik Simon will be a Visiting Fellow at the CoMMonS Research Center for Studies of Political Mobilization and Social Movements at the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen in May. Hendrik Simon is traveling to Denmark at the invitation of Nicole Milman-Doerr. Nicole Milman-Doerr is the founder and director of the CoMMonS Center and was a Visiting Fellow at PRIF.
As in Florence, Hendrik Simon will also be presenting his award-winning book “A Century of Anarchy? War, Normativity, and the Birth of Modern International Order”. He will also continue his examination of the topic of war legitimations in the past and present, which ties in with his PRIF project “War Legitimations and World Order Concepts” with Lothar Brock. In addition, he will be conducting research in Copenhagen on cohesion in socio-ecological transformation conflicts and international political sociology.
