On October 21, PRIF bid farewell to its long-time cooperation partner, Dr. Thomas Wagner. For over 13 years, the head of the “Labor and Social Affairs in a Single World” department at the Catholic Academy Rabanus Maurus / Haus am Dom in Frankfurt has been shaping a joint discussion series organized by the Frankfurter Rundschau, Haus am Dom, and PRIF.
As part of the event series, PRIF researchers engage in discussions with figures from politics, the media, and civil society in the center of Frankfurt on current political and societal issues. The goal of the series is to foster regular dialogue among politics, academia, and (civil) society.
Last Thursday, Wagner welcomed panelists and audience members for the final time in his role as head of department at the Catholic Academy for a panel discussion. The topic of the evening was the U.S. midterms, which will take place on November 3, 2026.
Under the title “U.S. Midterms: The Beginning of the End of Trumpism?” Frank Kuhn, Michael Werz (Council on Foreign Relations), and Julia Simon (John F. Kennedy Institute, FU Berlin) discussed various scenarios for the outcome of the midterm elections, moderated by Andreas Schwarzkopf.
A recording of the event is available on YouTube (link; in German).
