As Korea and Germany celebrate the 140th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in this year, PRIF and the Korean Consulate General in Frankfurt will host a bilateral Korean-German workshop focused on the strategies pertaining to the Indo-Pacific region. The primary objectives are to foster a deeper mutual comprehension of each side‘s approaches to the region and to explore avenues for enhancing policy coordination, given that both nations have identified each other as desirable partners.
The workshop, featuring contributions from distinguished experts and practitioners from both nations, will include dedicated panels on Korea‘s and Germany‘s strategies, culminating in a closing session to pinpoint areas of convergence and potentially forge a shared agenda for the future. Matthias Dembinski will hold the Keynote Speech. Patrick Flamm will present “German Approaches to the Indo-Pacific” at the second panel.
The workshop will be held in English and under Chatham-House-Rules at the Forschungskolleg Humanwissenschaften. Please send registrations to kulturfrankfurt@mofa.go.kr. The program of the workshop can be downloaded. The Consulate will provide shuttle vans between the Bad Homburg U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations, for participants who use public transportation.
