PRIF receives award for gender equality

For the first time, PRIF receives the "Total E-Quality" Award for a successful commitment to equal opportunities. The award was presented on Thursday in Erfurt to 60 organisations from the public, scientific or business sector.

"PRIF successfully showed that it applies a specific human resources strategy to achieve equal opportunities and thus was granted the TOTAL E-QUALITY award", said Eva Maria Roer, chairwoman of the Total E-Quality association when presenting the award to Dr. Claudia Baumgart-Ochse, women's representative at PRIF. Eva Maria Roer: "The executives of the winning institutions have recognised that gender equality ultimately leads to more success."

"We are happy that our efforts for equal opportunities are recognised and now officially made visible," Claudia Baumgart-Ochse explains. PRIF offers advanced training for women, specifically supports female junior researchers and provides work-life balance. These measures have successfully been institutionalised and laid the foundation for PRIF’s successful application for the award.

The award is granted for three years until 2012. Thereafter, a new award will be given if the application confirms continued success on the way to equal opportunity or demonstrates the sustainability of the implemented
strategy.
