Made in China

New HSFK Standpunkt on the Chinese development model

China's impressive growth has resulted both in resentment from the West and admiration in developing and newly industrialised countries. But will the economic progress be followed by a claim for political leadership in the world?

In HSFK Standpunkt No. 8/2011 "Made in China. Das chinesische Entwicklungsmodell - noch kein Exportschlager" (Made in China. The Chinese development model - not yet for export), Hans-Joachim Spanger, Isabella Burmann and Nora Glasmeier discover the opposite instead. Studying manifold original sources and evaluating expert interviews, the authors find a rather modest self-image of the Chinese economy with no missionary ambitions.
