19th Spring Academy on Security Politics 2009
"NATO – the Entangling Alliance
From a defence alliance to a world gendarme?"
Lambrecht (Pfalz), Mons and Brussels, 22 March to 3 April 2009

On 4 April 2009 NATO turns 60 – a good reason for Spring Academy 2009 to deal with the historic conditions of its founding, with its history, with its accomplishments and failings – and last but not least with its future prospects. The 19th Spring Academy on Security Policy organized by PRIF and the Atlantische Akademie Rheinland Pfalz (AARP) therefore offers a large number of lectures, panel discussions and gatherings with experts working in fields as research, politics or the military.

The academy is aimed primarily at advanced scholars and PhD candidates. The number of participants is limited to 30 persons. In order to receive a certificate participants have to take a three-hour written examination.
The academy takes place at the Pfalzakademie Lambrecht, it ends with excursions to the military and political headquarters of NATO in Mons and Brussels.

The participation fee of 300 euros includes the costs of preparatory materials and teaching events, as well as accommodation and full board in a double room (single rooms are available for 600 euros).
