On September 28, 2024, from 10:000 to 19:00, the first Science Festival Frankfurt will take place, which aims to bring science to life for everyone: a varied program with science slams, hands-on shows, short lectures and music will be offered on a joint stage at Frankfurt's Rossmarkt. In addition, the participating institutes, including PRIF, will present their research at individual stands. In addition to numerous other activities, there will be a quiz for children, which the institutes will jointly fill with questions.
PRIF will present selected current topics from peace and conflict research. The centerpiece is the hands-on activity “Frankfurt Ideas for Peace”. By folding origami doves and other figures out of colorful paper, we want to get into conversation with urban society. Interested parties can write down their questions about peace and conflict on the folded objects. The topics will be collected for a discussion event in the Frankfurt City Library in December 2024.
Patrick Flamm and Jonas Wolff will represent PRIF in two dialogs on the main stage. Patrick Flamm talks to Klement Trockner, Director General of the Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung, about “Climate, Environment and Conflicts”. Jonas Wolff takes part in a discussion on basic research.
The Frankfurt Alliance, founded in January 2024, presents itself to the public at the festival. The Science Alliance is an association of non-university research institutions in the Rhine-Main region and Goethe University.
Curious people of all ages are cordially invited. Admission is free.
